Advanced Analytics for Child Welfare Administration: October 15-19
Child welfare managers are invited to apply for Advanced Analytics for Child Welfare Administration, on October 15-19, 2007, in Chicago. The purpose of the course is to enable participants to become critical consumers of child welfare administrative data as a means toward making continuous quality improvements in their organizations.
The course is limited to 15 participants, who will receive full support for tuition, room, and most meals. Candidates must complete an application form, submit a resume or CV, and include a recommendation from a supervisor at their current organization. Applications are due July 23.

Audio Recording - Race, Schools, and Neighborhoods: Reducing Barriers to Achievement
At the Thursday's Child public policy forum on May 10 in Washington, D.C., Chapin Hall Senior Researcher Lauren Rich discussed how race and socioeconomic status contribute to school achievement gaps. Other panelists discussed how residential segregation contributes to the problem, and how efforts such as housing voucher and school-based programs can help address disparities in educational achievement.

Efforts to Improve After-School Program Quality
